WHO? YOU? ME? THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU? WHO?

(Psa 106:23) Therefore he said he would destroy them-- had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying them.

(Psa 106:30) Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stayed.

(Psa 106:34-36) They did not destroy the peoples, as the LORD commanded them,
but they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did.
They served their idols, which became a snare to them.

(Psa 106:41) he gave them into the hand of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them.

(Psa 106:43) Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their purposes and were brought low through their iniquity.

(Psa 106:47) Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.

Three times in chapter 106 of psalm David tells us how God's people had diobeyed. Two times he gives the acount of the person who "stood in the gap" so that God would spare them, however the 3rd situation David himself is standing in the gap.

In many many ways the modern church has left its roots, its foundation, the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ and him Crucified. So who will stand in the gap. Who will get on there face and beg God's forgiveness because we have not been doing what the Church was ment to do? Who will get so much of God's Spirit in them that they have anguish over the lost or that they get so tired of the false Gospels being preached in our churches that they actualy get of the pew and do something. Thousands of people sitting in so called Christian churches are on there way straite to hell because they dont know Jesus.

I asked the question earlier "who?" I want You to ask yourself the following questions.

1. If not me who?

2. If not now when?

The clock is ticking people are dieing. tick ...tick...???

Jer 17:7-8
(7) "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.
(8) He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

Tree
Justin Rizzo

Verse:
I want to be unmovable and unshakable
So let my roots go down deep
Unmovable and unshakable in You

Chorus:
I, I want to be like a tree
Planted by the streams of living water

Bridge:
This will be my song, God;
This will be my prayer
Till the end, till the end

Purpose

What is my purpose? haven't you asked your self that a hundred times. You can stick with the normal answer, "to please God," but that could mean many different things. Yes our purpose is to please God but I ask myself "more specifically" what is my purpose. I am not a perfect person. I have sinned and I struggle with some things. So how can I possibly fulfill God's purpose for my life. Can I ever get away from the struggles that always seem to pull me down? According to Romans 8 I can and you can too. The Holy Spirit must be our guide. When traveling down the metaphorical rode of life and u see Jesus standing by the side of the road STOP! but don't offer him a ride give him the keys and let him drive. He will not ride only drive.

Romans 8: "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, "For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

So..... What is your purpose? How do you achieve it? What advice would you give a person who was having trouble finding purpose and achieving it?

The Parable of the Sower

I was listening to the bible on my mp3 for my New Testament Class and I heard this parable for the 3rd time in the last few days because it appears in at least 3 of the 4 gospels...

Luke 8:5-15 "A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold." As he said these things, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, he said, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that 'seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.' Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience."

...It hit me all of a sudden I understood the meaning not just literal meaning but how it applies to me in my life. What kind of soil am I? to be honest I have been the soil plagued with thorns. In my Christian walk I have not been a long distance runner, but more of a sprinter. In light of that I have not made it as far as people around me may think, nor as far as I would like to have made it. My prayer is now that God help me to be that good soil, long distance runner, and disciple of Christ.
I challenge you who read this to be honest with yourself, God, and I (If you chose to respond) What kind of Soil are you?
